SQUIRE W. MATHES FAMILY

According to Ed Tenny, "This photo of Squire W. Mathes and his family was taken about 1908.  They lived in Galena.  We are not able to identify everyone in the picture, but know these:  seated with beard is Squire Mathes (b. 1836).  Woman standing on left end of the row is his daughter Caldona (b. 1873).  Woman standing behind him is his daughter Millie Mandora (b. 1877).  The little girl standing over his shoulder is Millie's daughter Ethel Anna Fullbright, my grandmother (b.1899).  The boy in overalls is Millie's son McKinley Smith (b. about 1896)."

UPDATE - MARCH 30, 2000
Ed made a connection with other Mathes researchers through the Stone County web site and found that the photo above was taken in 1904 in Crowburg, Kansas where some members of the family lived.  He also learned that the boy with the dog on his knee is Custer Monroe Mathes (1894-1970).  The man behind him is probably his father, James Patrick Mathes (b. 1866).

If you can identify the other people in the photograph please contact Ed Tenny.
